Design consultancy Bread Studio recently completed their proposal for Super Star, a 165-foot-high lantern pavilion to be installed in Hong Kong for the Mid-Autumn Festival, the annual festival held on the day when the moon is at its fullest. Since stars are often unseen under the brightness of the full moon, Bread Studio designed a giant illuminated five-point star. The structure is constructed from 60 truss modules that when put together, create a rainbow gradient. The lantern pavilion can be put up and deconstructed within one week.
