The world has new evidence to support the theories that Apple is working on a secret electric car project. Recently, the iPhone maker has brought in several auto industry experts who are just the sort of people you’d want to have around if you’re working on a car that might go head-to-head with Tesla, Nissan, and General Motors. According to the Wall Street Journal, Doug Betts is the latest to join the team, following seven years as the leader of global quality for Fiat Chrysler. Paul Furgale, the former deputy director of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology’s Autonomous Systems Lab, has also recently become an Apple employee. That group was already working on a self-driving vehicle, and Furgale has reportedly hired a fleet of computer and automotive experts to work with him at Apple since he came on board. News of the secret project set the internet ablaze earlier this year, when the WSJ published reports from The project, known by code name Titan, is suspected to be centered around the creation of a “mini-van-like” electric vehicle. The world’s greenest tech company has yet to confirm or deny the various reports and rumors about Titan, but it’s clear that something exciting is going on behind closed doors.
