Architecture students build Paper Brick pavilion out of 15,775 recycled paper cups

A sprawling paper cup pavilion for World Environment Day popped up in the popular Tuğlalı Park in Tekirdağ, Turkey last month. Created to raise awareness about recycling and reuse, the installation was made from 15,775 used paper cups collected from the local university canteen and firm. The washed waste cups were stapled together to form rounded, organic-inspired volumes. The site-specific pavilion was led by Esen Gökçe Özdamar, Okşan Tandoğan and Elif Ulu, in collaboration with Department of Landscape Architecture and Department of Painting at Namık Kemal University.
