The Triennale Design Museum presents Toyssimi exhibition, an event that showcases the results of the collaboration between 100 children and 100 designers who designed their dream toys at special workshops at various children’s hospital wards. Organized by Scuola Tam Tam with the support of ilVespaio in Milan and other cities, every designer was asked to fill a suitcase with diverse materials, such as rope, wire, mastic, woodsticks, plastic plugs, waste, scraps, and then met a child and formed a creative pair.
At the workshops, traditional roles disappeared: who is the teacher? Who is the pupil? Who is the designer? And who is the child? During the creative process, designers gave free rein to the children’s creativity, unleashing imagination and generating unpredictable, amazing results. The 100 toys are now showcased at La Balena, an area designed by Blumerandfriends, with photos and videos telling the creative process behind the exhibition.
The toys will be put up for auction and the proceeds will be given to Amani, a non-profit organisation that for 20 years has been helping children in Kenya and Zambia.
