Word on the street from a China-based Tesla sales rep is that the upcoming Model X will be available for sale in China as soon as next summer. The all-electric SUV with falcon wings hasn’t even rolled out in the United States yet, but Beijing-based Tesla employee Gary Tao told Bloomberg in an interview this week about some of Tesla’s plans to strengthen their presence in China. This will include new Tesla showrooms, a network of local authorized repair shops, and additions to the existing 1,400 Supercharger stations already installed throughout the country.
