Shigeichiro Takeuchi created Swing Bin, a sculptural piece of art that looks almost too beautiful for its actual role as a trash can. The deceptively simple design follows a minimalist aesthetic and consists of just two pieces: a cylinder with a diagonal cut and a wooden oval so precisely carved that the Swing Bin opens and closes without the need for screws, gears, or wires. Available in white or black, the elegant Swing Bin is currently seeking $65,000 in Kickstarter funds by September 14 and is already over a third of the way there.
