Hi,
This page is currently being developed. This page checks Sustainability Blogs and RSS News Feeds for new content and posts it to here each day. The aim is to share information related to sustainability which is relevant to people living in Central Victoria while also providing a channel for international sustainability information. I am just discovering the Internets information sharing potential. I'd like to help other not so tech savvy people learn how to find interesting and new Sustainability info. Please tell me your favorite blogs or news sources and I will add them to the list.
Thanks

Study shows corn fields creeping into untouched grasslands to meet ethanol fuel demand

corn farmlands disturb grasslands, grasslands disturbed by corn farming, biofuels causing carbon dioxide emissoins, corn and soy production, monoculture crops creep into grasslands

Two of America’s largest GMO monocultured crops – corn and soy – are starting to creep into previously un-farmed lands– in an effort to meet a growing demand biofuels like ethanol. The news comes from a new study released by researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison that used high-resolution satellite imagery to show the extent of farmland expansion from 2008 to 2012. Those are the years following the Renewable Fuel Standard law that requires all fuels to incorporate a biofuel component – which has led to 40 percent of U.S. corn being used to make ethanol.
