Zaha Hadid refuses to give up on the Tokyo Olympic stadium

The final Tokyo Olympic stadium design remains elusive after Zaha Hadid Architects’ initial ¥250 billion (just over $2 billion USD) proposal was scrapped by prime minister Shinzo Abe earlier this year. Engineering firm Nikken Sekkei has now announced that it will work with Zaha Hadid on a new plan they will submit to a second design competition launched in early September.
