World’s largest biomass plant in the UK will be fed by US forests

Plans have been announced for a construction project that will result in the world’s largest biomass plant in the United Kingdom. The Tees Renewable Energy Plant (REP) will be located in the Port of Teesside, Middlesbrough and have a capacity of 299 MW. The plant will generate to produce renewable energy for its own operations as well as supply power to commercial and residential utility customers in the area by burning wood pellets largely sourced from American forests.
