Despite Chinese President Xi Jinping’s call for an end to “strange-looking” architecture projects in China, yet another unique building is poised to take over a Chinese city skyline—this time, in Guangdong Province’s Foshan. The appropriately named Cube Tower is made up of a nine cubes of varying sizes stacked in a vertical formation, with each cube’s facade covered in different traditional design motifs. The large high-rise will contain a total of 34 elevators and 16 escalators, all of which will be installed by German mobility company ThyssenKrupp.
