Cape Town’s much-anticipated PLAYscapes Skatepark opened last month to much fanfare. Although the Mill St Skatepark is certainly not the first skating facility in the South African city, it may well be one of the most exciting! Built entirely under a city underpass, the repurposed public space has just won first place in an international design competition that sought inventive ways to re-design disused spaces in urban neighborhoods around the world.
