Would you dare to wear clothing that conducts electricity? Dutch designer Anouk Wipprecht’s “Faraday Cage” dress is capable of conducting close to a million volts of electricity! Her conductive ensemble consists of metal plates, 600 rings of chain mail, “plasma ball” epaulets, and a spiky grilled helmet. America’s next top models won’t even brave this accouterment, so Wipprecht demonstrated her own franken-attire at the Maker Faire in May. The artist stood fearlessly between a pair of Tesla coils as electricity tangled and twined around her, while she remained fully protected by her Faraday cage garb.
