University of Bologna student Pier Luigi Forte designed and built meshwave, a laser cut sculpture that expresses the structure of music in 3D. Forte created the design by transforming spectrogram curves into a 3-dimensional mesh shape modeled in Rhinoceros and Grasshopper. The resulting waffle structure was crafted out of laser-cut 4-millimeter-wide MDF panels. Designed for a private client, the artwork was exclusively exhibited at the Valencia Mini Maker Faire last year.
