Dutch design trio WE MAKE CARPETS recently announced the LED Carpet as their first permanent installation. Like most of their creations, the LED Carpet is more of a carpet-inspired art installation rather than the kind of carpet that can be walked on or touched. The interactive carpet is made up of 12,000 individual LED lights that are controlled by an iPad. When users draw their desired carpet pattern onto the iPad app, the design appears in real-time on the carpet facade. Watch a video here to see the LED carpet in action.
