The biggest climate march in history is finally here–and Inhabitat is on the ground reporting live on today’s momentous event! Starting at 11:30AM EST, as many as 100,000 people–including UN secretary general Ban Ki-Moon–are expected to mobilize in New York City for the People’s Climate March, a five-hour climate change protest that will kick off next week’s United Nation’s Climate Summit as well as Climate Week NYC. With over 1,000 organizations represented, the march will cover two miles of midtown Manhattan starting in Central Park West and will be organized in themed sections.
