We tend to take for granted the bridges that bind the world around us, but where would we be without gap-spanning marvels of modern construction? The Ohio University’s Masters in Civil Engineering program put together a handy infographic that lays out five different major bridge designs that we’d be lost without – from the humble clapper-type bridge to the iconic suspension bridge and several in-between.
