It may seem like Hurricane Sandy was quite a while ago now, but many people are still displaced after losing their homes in the storm. In order to make sure the city is better prepared for future emergency situations, NYC’s Office of Emergency Management teamed up with Garrison Architects to design and construct a post-disaster housing prototype that could be duplicated and rolled out to areas in need. The new prefab units were assembled on-site in Brooklyn and unveiled at Cadman Plaza this week.
